A new way to secure your scooter
November 16th, 2018
During this kick scooter pilot program, our goal is to collect enough data to serve San Francisco with the best possible kick scooter experience.
We have been testing service areas, overnight availability, and new vehicle features to keep our fleet of scooters charged and available to riders.
In the coming weeks, you’ll be seeing the latest update to our kick scooters: a new lock-to-infrastructure process. These combination locks attached to the neck of some kicks will make scooters easier to find by ensuring that they stay in the furniture zone and don’t wander when they’re not reserved by a rider.
The lock is extremely easy to use; once you start your ride, you’ll get a popup with the combination that will prompt you to unlock the lock. Remember to secure the lock before you start riding. At the end of your ride, you’ll get another popup reminding you of the combination and prompting you to lock the scooter securely.
We’ll be testing this simple lock for several weeks while we prepare to deploy scooters with a more robust and high tech lock.
Have you ridden a scoot with a Lock? We’d love to hear what you thought! Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with your feedback
