Help expand on-street Scoot parking!

May 6th, 2016

Last year, with your help, we lobbied the City and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) to pilot a project to exempt scoots (and all electric mopeds) from Residential Parking Permit (RPP) rules. The City gave us the exemption — it’s been awesome, and it’s why you’re able to park your scoot on small curbs (between four and eight feet) in any RPP neighborhood.

Moped Parking 9.1.15

The SFMTA is currently collecting data and conducting community meetings in each district in the city about RPP. Among other things, they’re looking at how scoots have affected neighborhood parking.

Parking in front of your home and picking up scoots on your block is part of what makes Scoot so great, and the SFMTA needs to hear that from you.

We’re asking that the SFMTA make Scoot parking in RPP areas permanent and make it easier for you, by allowing scoots to park along any curb (not just the small curbs and striped motorcycle spaces).

And most exciting of all, we’re asking that the SFMTA allow Scoot member to park at meters around the city for free. How? Scoot wants to buy permits to cover the cost for you.

Want to help get more on-street Scoot parking? Attend a Community Workshop in your neighborhood this month and tell the SFMTA you love Scoot!
