Electric Earth Day Celebration

April 8th, 2016

At Scoot, we’re committed to reducing climate change by improving urban transportation. Our 400 electric scooters are shared by thousands of people, who ride to every corner of San Francisco each day. We created Scoot to make electric vehicles available to everyone, and not just because they are fast and fun and affordable. Electric vehicles are one of the most important solutions to climate change. Every time someone rides a scoot instead of getting in a car, they’re making a difference for the planet.

Since launching Scoot three and a half years ago, our members have collectively scooted over one million miles. And since those miles were on electric scooters, it’s meant we’ve avoided adding 1.2 million pounds of CO2 to the atmosphere. That’s a big accomplishment, one we’re proud of and one we thank all our riders for making real.

We celebrated Earth Day this year with an open house party at our new offices in SOMA. Scoot members, neighbors, and friends of Scoot were all welcome! We had snacks from No Worries! Filipino vegan food truck and Smitten Ice Cream. For some added fun, we recycled old helmets by turning them into flower pots. It was a huge success — thanks to everyone who came out and gardened, chatted, and ate with us!
